Alexandria Districts
The city of Alexandria is now the second largest city in Egypt, the centre of a major industrial region, and the chief seaport of Egypt. It lies on the Mediterranean Sea at the western edge of the Nile River delta, about 114 miles (183 km) northwest of Cairo. It is built around two seaports East harbour and west harbor. The coastline of Alexandria strectches between the East and West harbors with plenty of top class beaches. Alexandria’s city center lies behind the East harbor with several attractions. Alexandria’s main districts are:
East Alexandria contains two main resorts the Agami and Hanoville. The Agami is an exclusive resort for the wealthy Egyptians and described as being St. Tropez of Egypt. The Hanoville is a more busy resort and contains low price hotels.
East and West Harbours:
it is the center of the fishing industry in the town where fishing vessels are seen all over the place. The atmosphere in the harbors gives the visitor a taste of the city.
Downtown Alexandria:
Behind the Eastern harbor down town Alexandria is located. Down town Alexandria is a walking distance from major attractions and markets and staying there gives you insight of the real lifestyle of Alexandria and its atmosphere. El Raml station has a selection of hotels from which you can a have a view of the sea if you are staying in an upper floor. Shopping boutiques and antiquities shops are present in the area.
Stanley Bay:
Stanely is close to city center and a good place to have a beach holiday within the vicinity of the city. A new bridge is constructed to prevent traffic congestion and also provides a good architectural design worth of seeing.
West Alexandria:
Western Alexandria lies some beaches and resorts which stretches along the shores. The resorts are not well developed but one can find a good selection of hotels and beach accommodation to start a vacation in a beautiful beach setting.
