Starting on 1 November 2026, the Grand Egyptian Museum opens its doors after dark for Eternal Sun – an immersive 35-minute light and music show that turns the museum’s monumental Grand Hall into a living stage. During the show, projection mapping, lasers, dynamic lighting, music and bilingual storytelling guide you on a journey from darkness to light through 5,000 years of Egyptian civilisation, around the colossal statue of Ramesses II.
This Eternal Sun tour takes care of everything: your entry ticket, a private air-conditioned car or van from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, assistance on arrival at the museum, and the drive back to your hotel after the show.
Eternal Sun is the Grand Egyptian Museum’s first after-dark show. The sun was at the heart of ancient Egyptian religion – from Ra, who sailed across the sky by day and through the underworld by night, to the daily rebirth of the sun at dawn – and as a result, the show uses that idea of darkness turning into light as its story. In fact, it takes place in the Grand Hall, the museum’s vast entrance atrium dominated by the 11-metre statue of Ramesses II.
