Valley of the Kings:
Discover the world-famous Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground where, for nearly 500 years (from the 16th to 11th century BC), magnificent tombs were carved for pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. Located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite modern Luxor, this valley lies at the heart of the Theban Necropolis and is renowned for its richly decorated tombs and symbolic funerary art.
Colossi of Memnon:
Continue to the Colossi of Memnon — two gigantic sandstone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Each statue, standing around 21 meters high, depicts the king seated on his throne wearing the royal headdress. On the sides, carvings of the Nile god Hapi bind the lotus and papyrus plants, representing the unity of Upper and Lower Egypt. These statues have stood for millennia as silent sentinels guarding the ancient necropolis.
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut:
End your tour at the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Hatshepsut, the fifth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and one of Egypt’s few female rulers, reigned longer than any other woman in Egyptian history. Her mortuary temple remains a lasting testament to her power, ambition, and devotion to the gods.
